Hey Janel, thanks for sharing your video. I have been on it for 2 weeks, and it has made my anxiety bad. I am on it for anxiety and a mood disorder. I am hoping the side effects subside. It seems that they have for you after the first 2 weeks. My anxiety is high, lobido gone, appetite is gone, so I am hoping to ride it out. See how it is after another week. I also tried St. John's wort during it and it helped at times, and others it made it worse.
Hello I've been looking up about this pill all day I got it prescribed today and ur so beautiful and fun to watch talk about your experience...I'm confused about what this pill does exactly how does it make a day better ?
I took this stuff. The first week or two I was fine. Then about two weeks after I started getting horrible anxiety when it started to kick in like 4 hours later. It was almost unbearable. So then I decided to take my mood stabilizer with it. That helped the anxiety but I had shitty thoughts, but I felt like I had control of myself (I'm bipolar). I tried to get off, today was day 2 going cold turkey. Today I started feeling even more depressed. I couldn't finish a task like doing dishes. My motivation is gone, I keep procrastinating. So today I caved in and took it. I hope my anxiety and bad thoughts go away. Today I started to SAY shitty stuff again. Which I never did while on this. I guess I'd rather have some shitty thoughts but be functional and not say or act on my thoughts or illness. It's weird...
I am using wellbutrin xl 150 mg (I will start to use wellbutrin xl 300 mg). I am also using "fish oil" and "Pharmaton (multi vitamin", is there any interaction, or bad thing to use fish oil & pharmaton with wellbutrin? or should i stop using fish oil & pharmaton?
Kerem PARLAKGUMUS I have no clue. But I Googled Wellbutrin interactions just last night and i think i only read interaction with antacids. But don't rely on my comment. Search it or call a pharmacist to be sure.
I’ve been on it for 8 years... it really is motivation in a bottle for those who suffer from a dopamine deficiency.
I couldn’t get off the couch and stop crying either. Couldn’t hold down a job. Couldn’t make friendships or romantic relationships work to save my life.
Now I’ve been at the same job for six years, married, dug myself out of a financial mess.
Not for ppl with serious anxiety issues!!!
Happy you found something that worked.
I've been taking it for 4-5 months and it did a lot of good for me. Only side effect I experienced was heat sensitivity and excess sweating.
Now that I've got what I needed, I'm tampering
It's not for everyone. No drug is for everyone.
Very good you also chosen Bupropion as it really helped for me! Thanks for the video. I order my Bupropion online for more than 3 years now at Pharmacy XL ( https://www.pharmacy-xl.com/wellbutrin-pills-generic-antidepressant-medication-drug-150-mg-tablets-seasonal-depressive-bupropion-gsk-online-pharmacy-xl.html ) as they have cheap prices, good quality generic drugs and free shipping! Can recommend it to anyone for both Bupropion as well as other meds!
Oh okay, I just got prescribed the stuff, today. It's kind of weird so far.
I heard weight loss was a side effect and I was kinda like "eh... I don't know if I believe that" because most medications make you gain weight. Thanks for replying!
I'm experiencing MORE Anxiety now.. it's been 10 days.. I have social phobia but they won't give me zepames which is what helped me before so I'm really hoping this medication will help if I stay on it..
Very good video and one I could totally relate too on several different levels. About 2 weeks on it, started 150, moved to 300 after 4 days. Got past the insomnia. Jitteriness or anxiety is there but I can deal with that with some sort of physical activity like exercise. Plan on doing the counseling real soon. Too busy over the holidays to start it and keep it going. Anyway I really liked your video.
That is a perfect example of how I feel/felt. I just sit and just let the chores pile up and nothing would get done. Also my memory is really bad and it would drive my wife crazy. I am back on it after admitting to myself that I cannot fight this depression alone or with my sheer will. So far, it is going well and hopefully my mod continues to improve. Thank you for the video!
Hi Janel, thank you so much for posting this. The memory thing and organisation thing is so relevant to me. My g/f gives me so much s&&& for that its not true. Im going to approach my (UK) doc to get on this. I have had depression for 20 yrs. And have bounced up and down on SSRIs for most of that time. Maybe just maybe its Dopamine instead of Serotonin. Thanks
Hi Janel its been 1month I've been on 150mg xl wellubutrin & 50mg of serequol, I take both in the morning. The seroquol helps me sleep & both are for depression, as far as the wellubutrin my doc put me on it also to help me stop smoking, however I still smoking, emotionally Im coming along, I go back to doc soon. I wondering if I should have him increase the wellubutrin.
I've quit Wellbutrin and started it many times no problem. I quit Cymbalta (SSRI) on my own and that was like a freaking nightmare! Wellbutrin is a breeze! It's the only antidepressant I will ever take.
It seems that it is actually just not proven yet that it is effective at treating anxiety , there are emerging more studies leaning more towards the idea that it helps rather than intensifies anxiety . It's just kind of a hard thing to study in a controlled setting because many other external factors outside of the drugs neurochemical reaction in the brain can play a role in ones state of relative anxiety from day to day , so it's hard to get good data . Enough to prove it either way , so it's just not approved for that by the FDA yet .
+Donny Guillén I completely understand your fear because I had the same fear. It took me months to finally take this pill. I definitely had my ups and downs but the end result definitely did help with my depression. I'm very happy that you know you cannot cut it in half because a lot of people make that mistake. I took 150 XL.
I'm about to start 150 mg XL and I'm kinda scared because of negative past experiences with SSRIs... I know this works differently, but the point is I'm very sensitive to medication. And since I cannot cut this one, I'm freaking out. How much did you take? I really appreciate you taking the time to answer other people's questions. It does help. Regards from Peru.
+Donny Guillén yes I took it in the morning as the doctor requested and as most people tend to do. I think the reason for the nausea is because people forget to eat but like I said I personally never experienced huge bouts of nausea but that does not mean that other people haven't.
I also warn people who want to take antidepressants. stay away from Paxil or any other SSRI. drugs.you will gain weight and I've been reading it also will lead to brain damaging effects later on.I did not look into the drug before hand.if you are going to take a antidepressant. please educate yourself on it first.
Like many others here I want to thank you for posting this video. It was helpful to hear your experience and your thoughts about therapy, which I had been avoiding for YEARS, but medication is only one component of treatment, as you say. I'm hopeful for a positive outcome, but I'm a bit afraid of this medication too. However, I'm starting off on a small dosage, so maybe there won't be too radical a change all at once?
Anyway, I have been denying the obvious clinically depressed state I've been in for almost two decades, but because there seems to be a change in perceptions culturally, and especially in the professional world, I feel somewhat ok about finally addressing this problem. Watching your videos has made me feel better about my decision. I'm relieved to know there are brave souls like yourself, and the many of the commenters here, who aren't ashamed to admit publicly that they have depression and are seeking help with it.
Good luck to you and thanks again for posting!
staring Wellbutrin first thing in the morning. I'm totally excited, yet scared all the same. I am excited to see if this medication is finally going to give me the relief from all the daily anxieties and trauma triggers, and that sense of worthlessness, the weight loss...at least to a minimum so that I can focus on other aspects of my issues and get to closure without stressing about the stupid emotions that collide and drown over.. like I cant even get out of my house anymore, and act like I hate ppl, which is totally not my character. WHY??!1 I always ask myself.. (rhetorical question) yet I'm worried that I could get co-dependent, Anyway, YOU are my angel for the day, simply for this video. I appreciate being informed. AND you ARE TOTALLY ON TARGET about the therapy.. ANYWAYZZZZ thank you for this video. prayers up HEAD UP HANDS UP, and keep doin you, girly. THANX
+D'Real Brewster I just wanted to say, I totally relate to what you stated here! I've been having a really hard time lately with all the same issues you related. I finally went to get help and I was just prescribed this med as well. 75mgs to start. I'm reluctant to take it because the the side effects, but it's a bit of a relief to see you are excited and positive about it. I hope it helps you (and myself)! Good luck!
Probably great med for depression but if you've been given this for ADD you've probably been swindled. I feel quite upset after reading this article. WebMD... yes, that's bought by Glaxosmithkline.
Several people have mentioned that but I show more symptoms of OCD than ADD. lol Ive checked with my therapist and I even did a video on it. They're so very similar and both rooted in anxiety but seems to be OCD is my burden to bare. :-/
Hi Janel! Thank you so much for this post! I totally can relate to your situation. I've been recommended Wellbutrin but have been afraid of the side effects. I may give it a try. Your posts are so helpful!!! Thank you!!!!! :-)
Hello, have you ever been diagnosed for ADD/ADHD? It's often miss diagnosed as bi polar, anxiety etc. You sound exactly like me but I have been diagnosed with severe ADD. Wellbutrin has been recommended as a none stimulant alternative medication for more focus. Take care.
+Janel Longoria I'm beginning to realise that the experts although say Wellbutrin releases dopamine and neo thingys are wrong that it is a none stimulant. My therapist here in the UK said it was a none stimulant but I have to agree with someone who is taking it over an expert.
Have you tried Catilipram (Celexa) that has helped me along with Vyvanse for my ADD.
I wish you all the best and would love to know how you are getting on with everything. I would definitely ask regarding ADD as when I watched your video this morning I saw me lol. Worth a try as I thought I was bi polar low energy etc.
Keep me posted and take care.
You know what's funny is you're like the 3rd person on YouTube to recommend getting diagnosed for ADD. Yes wellbutrin calms me down. Thank you for your advice. Although contrary to what is said about Wellbutrin, it is a stimulant, which is why most people will report increased anxiety when they first start taking it. In most cases it's people report that they take out for depression because their depression makes them to where they don't want to do anything or engage in anything like social activities or just things as simple as getting out of bed. It being a stimulant, gets them "off their butts" lol and makes them more active. That's exactly what it does for me. I will look into finding a better therapist and seeing what they say about ADD. Thank you for the recommendation.
I LOVE Wellbutrin... I was on it in rehab, an jus ran out... I'm SO DEPRESSED WITOUT IT!!!! How can a TEHAB jus send u home wit it n then let it run out?!?! I was on that an nerotin... Now I'm a mess!!!! I'm jus on suboxone now.. An I HATE IT!!!! NON STOP HEADACHES!!!!
I'm also on suboxone and the doc just proscribed wellbutrin for my ADHD I'm gonna start taking it tomorrow. I was on adderall but I can take it with the suboxone. talk to ur doc about being on both I'll let u no how it works with me after I start
Wellbutrin is actually used to treat ADHD in situations where stimulants prove to be to much of a risk factor for addiction. ALOT of your symptoms share similarity's to ADD/ADHD. I can relate, as i i too have ADD.
Try to look into Caffeine allergies. http://www.caffeineinformer.com/caffeine-allergy-top-20-symptoms
I've honestly never heard of anyone who has reacted to caffeine that way. Hopefully it is just an allergies. Have you taken any other types of stimulants? Or is this how you react to every type.
Honestly if you can take wellbutrin, which is a stimulant class medication and be fine, i don't see why you wouldn't be able to take a proper ADHD medication.
For longevite sake, i would advise you be taking a multi vitamin and omega-3 fish oil.
Omega-3 is very important for brain health as your white matter in your brain is composed a high concentration of the acids only found in omega-3.
Also it's very difficult to find this nutrient outside of eating fish or flaxseed oil, so that's why 80% of america is deficient in it.
A very underlooked supplement for ADHD is L-Tyrosine, it aids in the production of Ldopa inside the brain. It essentially aids in the production of dopamine without providing a stimulating effect.
Sounds like it's time to see a real therapist, which ive been wanting to do for quite some time. I appreciate your comments on the matter. Me and caffeine are enemies. If i so much as eat a whole kit kat bar, the minute amount of caffeine in the chocolate is enough to give me a headache. If i drink a regular caffeinated soda, my heart will start to race as if i'm exercising. It's a very horrible feeling especially for an anxious person. It really sucks cause everyone just consumes caffeine like it's going outta style and i'm over here just wishing i could without sending myself to the ER. LOL.
Your caffeine sensitivity is not a indicator whether you're ADD or not. While taking wellbutrin the effects of caffeine are magnified pretty greatly. I take my wellbutrin with coffee and i'm alert for hours to come. Infact caffiene acts similarly to Psychotropic stimulants used to treat ADHD/ADD. By stimulating the central nervous system to produce domamine. Caffiene also is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor. It's quite an effective drug for adhd.
Janel, I've been taking Lamictal 200mg, Risperdal 1mg for some time now. a week ago I started taking 100mg of wellbutrin. I've taking it b4 and had decent results overall. but lately I've been feeling dizzy, hands shaking, and perhaps even more anxiety on and off. I was diagnosed with bi-polar at age 19... I'm now 33. what possible side effects if any did you experience with wellbutrin
+HeavenOrHell74 I had almost all the side effects listed for wellbutrin but they were short lived. Ill talk about em in the video and i also have other vids on wellbutrin on my channel if you'd like to check em out.
+Kurt Nishizaki I stopped taking it because i was feeling that i didnt need it anymore and also was planning a surgery and didnt want to have remnants of the pill in my system just in case i had to skip a few days.
Hi .. I have social anxitey and low-grade depression .. I have used zoloft for a month and it has done nothing to me .. I think that I have a low level of dopamine so I am going to take wellbutrin to increase it .. I have difficulty concentrating and being alerted and connecting with others .. have you felt these symptoms before taking the drug ? If it's yes .. has it gone with it ? .. THANK YOU
The compliments I'm sure you get with those dimples.. Prettty girl. Thanks for the informational video. Starting my different route (away from 120mg of adderall a day, to leave the addicting life style behind) with this tomorrow.
OMG thanks so much for making this video...... I have been on wellburtrin for 4 days now and have all of the symptoms you talked about and thought maybe I shouldn't take it. But those bad sick symptoms are starting to go and now I'm starting to feel good. :-) and Lol everything you said in your videos I was like OMG that is me.....lmao. but just wanted to say thank you Lol you seem like a very real down to earth person. Glad to see there is somebody just like me. :-):-):-):-):-):-):-)
@Randelyn Contreras Awwww i am so glad to read that you pushed through and didnt give up! Yes, there are sooo many out there like us! I really really hope this works for you and you kick the illness's butt! Good luck and stay strong! <3
I will ask my doc about getting this medz, I can barely get horny anymore and I usually have no issue with that whatsoever, but its the ssri Im taking now that does it Im sure. I don't really have much anxiety I can get kinda insecure around ppl that are insecure around me, but thats not the same I think, if this drug makes me remember more Im not sure I want that tho I like that my mind is foggy like that: /
@KATORIA H Im so happy to read that it's working for you! It's a wonderful feeling when you finally start to feel lifted. Thank you so much for following these vids. Good luck and have a wonderful day. :)
I've been on Wellbutrin SR for about half a year now. It worked at first, so the doctor increased my dose from 150mg to 300mg, and then 300mg in the morning and 150mg in the afternoon. At this point I had nausea, occasional dizziness and slight tremors, but I've always been sensitive to side effects so I stuck with it.
After taking the 450mg combination for 9 or 10days, I started to have twitches at random parts of my body and really bad tremors. When my legs started to feel tense I went to a doctor. I thought maybe it is Multiple Sclerosis, after all I've been on wellbutrin for months, I had the idea that side effects don't worsen. It doesn't help that wellbutrin's side effects are so similar to MS symptoms. I got jittery, my heartbeats raced, my vision got more blurry and I have been nauseated for a long long time. I've always been thin and this med halved my appetite. I think I'll have to quit it. It has stopped working anyway.
Anyone else had a similar problem?
@Janel Longoria Thanks for the reply! I just hope more people realize how intense the side effects can be even after months on it. :p and 450mg is a high dose. Apparently, risk of seizure in anorexic/thin girls are higher.
My message to everyone is: Doctors don't know much/everything about the antidepressants they prescribe, so we have to learn about the drugs we're taking. :)
I am going to ask the doctor to take me off it. I mean.. it's used to help people quit hard drugs, to me that means they work in similar ways as the drugs, just that it doesn't leave you craving for more. Besides, it causes so many neuro-related side effects.. I already have depression. I better not screw my brain up too. But this is of course, just how my body responds. :) Some people do well on it.
@Liwei Xu Hii there! I would've thought that if the 100mg had stopped having an effect that maybe Doc would've increased it slowly to, perhaps, 150mg SR or possibly 200mg (100mg twice a day) and that maybe would have sufficed. But to be on 450mg coming from 100mg is quite a jump! Had you considered that with these side effects (along with the huge jump) the dose may just be too high? Yes Ive definitely seen that in people who might be a little underweight that the tremors and side effects are a little more intense. This is why they don't really recommend it to people who may have had an issue with anorexia in the past or currently struggle with it (or who just are naturally thinner). I can see how side effects could worsen, though, with a jump to a higher dose. Maybe if you're really wanting to continue this med, talk to your Doc again about lowering the dose to something more feasible? Im so sorry you're having these problems and i hope you decide to pursue whatever option makes you most comfortable. If i were in your shoes, though, (this is just my opinion) i would talk to Doc about lowering the dose. I hope you feel better ASAP!
Thank you for sharing Janel. I was diagnosed with Dysthymia as well about 6 weeks ago and finally decided to see a psychiatrist when therapy alone was not helping me. Our stories are so similar. I am super irratable, tired, angry, easily angered and very negative over all. Just within the last twoyears i have noticed these symtoms, before then I was generally a go getter and very positive even in times of difficulty. My doctor also prescribed me the generic form of Lorazepam to help calm my anxiety down at night to help me sleep. I hope this regimen works as well for me as it did for you, because Im honestly tired of being a negative depressed bitch all the time with no drive, especially when i know i used to be capable of being "normal". Its affected my relationships and work ethic, and school career. I have only just started this regimen today, so thanks for sharing your progress and i hope you continue to do so.
@Ashley Nand And thank you for sharing your story. Never feel a loss of hope because there is always a remedy. I feel your pain and if you just remember to fight through the initial side effects, you'll be perfectly "normal" in the weeks to come. Good luck and feel better!
I'm thinking about taking this for my ADD. I take 30mg adderall in the morning then 20mg around lunch. It works wonders for calming me down and helps me focus. But I don't wan to have to be on a narcotic for the rest of my life. The people at the pharmacy treating me like a drug addict for getting them. Hate having to be judged by them every month getting it filled. Been doing research on this, have read really positive reviews. Any side effects? Read it doesn't have a negative impact on sex drive. Which is a huge plus. I need everything working at all times lol
@xxxdnaskatexxx Im glad youve taken an interest. As far as side effects go it varies from person to person. I havent spoken with anyone saying that it lowered their sex drive, rather the opposite. Good luck and feel better!
whizbang1111 For some reason i cant directly respond to your comment so thats why im creating a new one. Im doing much better on Bupropion SR 100mg. The OCDish tendencies as well as the depression are really quelled but i can definitely feel the effect of the pill fade around 3p.m. I take the pill everyday at roughly 7a.m. So i'm thinking of going back on the 150mg XL version because it seemed to last all day until about 8p.m. and it would subside just in time to get to bed. Im sorry about your ADD and Bipolar disorder. I know many people with this ailment and i know the kind of suffering they go through on a daily basis. I really hope that Wellbutrin is the right med for you and that with therapy and a little bit of patience that you recover the best as possible. Please, good luck and stay dedicated to getting better.
I love thе I'm gоing to give these products a chance to work their magic on me. I've tried everything out there and so far nothing has been good enough to help me. Checcck out it there https://twitter.com/fa7995e147ea99c49/status/788632172043366400 1 Month On Wellbutrin XL Bupropion XL
thank you for speaking about that topic.iam about to go see my doctor in 2 weeks .iam.going to ask to be put on it.iam.currently takin Paxil.it has made me gained 20 lbs in 3 months.plus isn't really helping.iam passive aggressive as well.my poor fb friends..lol but again ty again for letting people know
hi I am a recovering amphetamine addict.. bipolar and ADD destroyed my college life...now I am on Bupropione SR with lithium and ariprazole.....can you please tell me how your doing on it now.....thanks for sharing ....God bless
I am on my 5th day now, on Elontril/Wellbutrin XL(we have only Elontril with full extended release in Germany), and It is really awesome !!! I had nearly no real side effects, except that I couldnt sleep as fast as usual, but I havent had insomnia, something about 3-4 hours of sleep the first 2 days. The feeling on the first day was great, on the second day it was awesome, on the 3rd day almost euphoric and orgasmic. Today, I am feeling very good and healthy, not this euphoric feeling as on the beginning, but I have no sideeffects, just this happy feeling. Thanks for your report. I am watching this, vaping my E-Cigarette as well :D
Yo!! Love the vids!! I tried 3 different SSRI 'S with no results other than side effects. I've been on Wellbutrin 150sr for a month. I'm having the same result as you, I'm getting back to the person I was straight outta high school, confidant, full of life, and not looking for misery. I'm a 35 yr old male. I've had the world by the balls since I graduated HS, doing therapy as well and haven't come up with any reason for my depression, good luck and again love the vids, can't wait for another ;)
@978cdub Im so happy for you! And yes, its a great feeling to come out of that fog and be like "Whoa, This is what it feels like to be normal? No wonder i felt so horrible. I forgot what it was like!" lol Good luck to you and please keep on truckin!
Thanks for sharing. Been on it 3 weeks and it ended the fatigue, but it makes me slightly wired and anxious. I do have the tremors. I also take 40mg of Paxil at night. I am due to go back to the Psychiatrist soon and will tell her of the anxiety. I hardly get a good nights rest and that's even on Ambien. I'd have to take more Xanax than usual to calm me down.
